This is a list of attractions and events in the region.

Tacoma travel information – An overview of the many local attractions.

South Sound Blues Association – Keeping the Blues alive Local concerts, small and large. All year.

Washington State History Museum – Located just a few blocks from the convention venue.

Museum of Glass – A spectacular museum devoted to glass sculpture. It houses a fully equipped hot shop which invites the world’s top glaass artists. A short light rail ride from the hotel.

Foss Waterway Seaport – Museum dedicated to Tacoma’s maritime history<./p>

Tacoma Art Museum – An excellent museum, near the Glass and History museums.

McMenamins Elk Temple - A renovated Elks Lodge with outstanding restaurants and bars.

The Lemay Car Museum - Has an extensive collection of restored automobiles. It’s located just outside downtown near the Tacoma Dome. It is accessible by light rail.

Hotel Murano - The convention venue.

Point Defiance - One of the largest city parks in the country. It includes a rose garden, a Japanese style garden, waterfront walks, walking trails, a marina and a zoo and aquarium.

Ruston Way - A two mile long scenic waterway along Commencement Bay is great for walking and bicycling and fishing. There are also several excellent restaurants.

Cheney Stadium/Rainiers – For the baseball fans.

Seattle Center – One of our excursions. It’s the location of the iconic Space Needle. Take the monorail into downtown Seattle and the Pike Place Market. Nearby is the Seattle Art Museum and Benaroya Hall.

Chihuly Garden and Glass - Included in our Seattle excursion.

Mt Rainier - Also one of our excursions.

Mt St. Helens - A two hour drive from Tacoma.

Tacoma Arts - Live theater and music.

Garden Conservancy – A list of Northwest gardens open to the public.

Scenic Washington - For those who wish to extend their stay and see more of Washington State.

The Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually Wildlife Preserve - A wildlife refuge just south of Tacoma. Walking trails and a boardwalk take you over the Nisqually River delta.
